Bluefish sushi glenview1/8/2024 ![]() The lunch special is for sure a standout served Monday - Friday with items being around 20 bucks after tax. Having experienced both the lunch specials along with the rolls and even dinner entrees, you truly can?t go wrong with someplace like Blufish. Indeed, I would recommend this to anyone, and can't wait to return!įor the last 3 months, I have dined here at least 7 times with family and friends all very happy and leaving with full bellies of nice quality foods. My girlfriend specifically said, "11/10, would recommend". The amazing food was heightened by the delightful service. This was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. We finished eating just as the restaurant was closing, but were not rushed out, and had a nice conversation with the desk staff as we exited. Not often a fan of raw fish, the seared salmon atop this rolls was phenomenal, as was the tempura shrimp in both rolls. The Veggie Maki was larger than most other restaurant's offerings, and beautifully layered with avocado. All of them were delicious, easily some of, if the not the best, sushi either of us have had. We ordered a Veggie Maki, Crunchy Muffy, and Smokey Bear. They have a nice selection of sashimi and sushi, with many of the latter being unique combinations I have not seen before. One we had finished this, we ordered our Maki. It came quickly, and was a good size, though it could have used a bit more salt. After left with our drinks for a bit we ordered an appetizer of edamame. My drink especially was worth writing about, beautiful balance of flavor and alcohol. We began with drinks, I had a beautiful Aviation (complete w/ flower petal) while my girlfriend had a pear cider in a chilled glass. seated in a booth, our waiter Matt was awesome, pacing our experience perfectly. We arrived on a Monday night and were greeted by a very friendly staff who clearly cared that our dinner date was a great experience. "I think we're at about 80 percent that it's going to happen. Our first time here definitely won't be our last! Heard about this location from a co-worker and that it was the best of the Blufish locations. "At first, they said no, but now they're reconsidering," he said. But they only want to rent 2,000 square feet of it, Chuck Choi said, to avoid "more than doubling" their current space. There is 4,000 square feet of vacant space to the west of their restaurant, which used to be a salon and spa. While the Choi brothers are waiting for the third installment of their Blufish trilogy to open, they also have their sights on expanding their first location in Glenview. "So there will be some unique fishes that you can't just get at any sushi restaurant," Chuck Choi said. The brothers say they also have secured a partnership with a vendor in California that can overnight fish directly to the restaurant from a market in Japan. Our guys are constantly going downtown and trying new things … and we try to up the game on it." "We always try to take it to the next level and outdo our competition. "We know what items our customers like, and we always try to keep that, but we also always try to do new things," Matt Choi said.
